Excellent transport links
Located in the southeast corner of England, Maidstone has all the advantages of being both close to London and mainland Europe, yet easily accessible from the rest of the UK.
The excellent road and rail networks ensure that Maidstone’s venues are well-connected, whether you prefer travelling by car, train or bus.
Getting here by car
Maidstone is very accessible by car, with the M2 and M20 motorways providing easy connections to the M25. There are also many non-motorway connecting roads and country lanes that link the surrounding towns and villages.
For those travelling from the continent, Eurotunnel services run up to four times an hour between Calais and Folkestone taking only 35 minutes. It is then just a 30 minute drive to Maidstone.
Cross-channel ferry services operate connections between Dover Port and Calais and Dunkirk. There are departures every 30 minutes and the average crossing time is between 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the route.

Getting here by train
Travelling to Maidstone by train is so easy and is the quickest mode of transport for visitors without a car.
Southeastern run trains across the county and Maidstone town centre benefits from two railway stations. Maidstone East connects to London and Ashford, while Maidstone West links to Gatwick and Tonbridge.
Eurostar train services run regularly through Kent between London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet International and the continent. Ebbsfleet is just 20 minutes from Maidstone by taxi.
Getting around by bus
Travelling around Maidstone and the wider borough is very straightforward with services provided by Arriva. There are also two park and ride services, one to the west of town and the other to the north-east, running regular buses into the centre of town.
Getting here by air
Our nearest airports are Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted, all of which are within easy driving distance. These airports offer both domestic and international flights. There is also a privately owned airfield within the Maidstone borough. Headcorn Aerodrome is about 7 miles from Maidstone town centre and offers a grass landing strip suitable for propeller driven planes and some very light jets.
