This route is from Marden Station to Yalding, but it also works from Yalding Station to Marden. Both train lines go through to Paddock Wood. You can do the whole circular route or just half.

This circular route is 13.6 miles.
1. With the station behind you, head south west to the end of the road. At the junction turn right into Church Green Road the B2079.
2. Take the first road on the right into Pattenden Lane. Follow this lane to the end. Whilst visibility is excellent on this road, quite a lot of big lorries use it as there is a large industrial estate at the Marden end.
3. At the end of the road turn left into Hunton Road. Pass Green Lane on your left hand side and continue along Hunton Road. Go over the River Beult.
4. The road name changes from Hunton Road to East Street at the river bridge.
5. Pass George’s Street and Redwall Lane on your right.
6. Go to the end of East Street.
7. Turn left into West Street signposted to Hunton and Yalding.
8. Stay on West Street and go right the way through Hunton.
9. After about ¾ mile the road runs alongside the River Beult.
10. Eventually there is a triangle of grass at the junction with Mill Lane. Keep on the same road as this (West Street) turns into Vicarage Road.
11. At the end of Vicarage Road turn left. The Walnut Tree pub is opposite the end of the road. Go down the hill and through the village crossing over the medieval bridge and turn right. It’s worth spending a couple of minutes to have a look over the side of the bridge at the river.
Detour: Turn left for The George Pub, about 100yds away.
12. The right turn takes you into Lees Road. Here you will pass the water meadows on your right hand side. Keep right and ignore the junction to Laddingford. Go over the next medieval bridge, this has traffic lights on it as it is single file.
13. The delightful thatched Anchor Inn can be found on the left hand side. Tables and chairs outside are right next to the River Medway. This is a Shepherd Neame pub and serves locally produced ales.
Detour: Next door to the Anchor Inn is Teapot Island. There is a café here and an interesting and very large collection of teapots.
Detour: If you have had enough cycling, follow the river by the side of the road to Yalding Station which can be found about ½ mile further along
14. Return across the medieval bridge and take the right hand road to Laddingford. Pass a small lane on the left.
15. Pass a junction over a bridge on the right.
16. Pass the beautiful country pub The Chequers Inn on your right. This is also a very good refreshment stop.
17. At the next junction, keep left. This road becomes Claygate Road.
18. Once in Claygate Road, pass Emmet Hill Lane, Jarmans Lane and then a second turning into Jarmans Lane on your left hand side.
19. Take the first turning on the left into Kings Lane.
20. At the end of Kings Lane turn right into Collier Street.
21. Then very quickly turn left into Longend Lane.
22. Follow Longend Lane until you reach the end where it joins with Green Lane. Turn right.
23. Follow Green Lane to the end and turn right into Hunton Road.
24. Turn right into Pattenden Lane, which takes you back to the station in Marden.
25. Collect a variety of fresh and local produce from the Farm shop a little further along the road from the station.
