Whether you are here for a day, staying overnight or here for a longer break, there are a few attractions that you may not want to miss.

With large attractions such as Leeds Castle, you will need a whole day to get the most out of your visit. With others, you can combine them to create a full itinerary for the day. A visit to Kent Life can be combined with a boat trip on the River Medway, perfect as the Kentish Lady River Boat moors close by.

Leeds Castle from the Moat

Leeds Castle is a joy to explore but set aside the day for this as there is a lot to see.  The walk through the water gardens on the way in is spectacular, so take a little time here.  It is worth it.  The castle interior is decorated in a 1930's style when it was renovated by Lady Ballie and hosted the rich and famous. The maze, grotto, birds of prey and Knight Stronghold are great outdoors fun.  Many are also enjoying the sand pit and the boat and train rides.

The Kentish Lady, close to her mooring in the Town Centre of Maidstone

The river Medway is a quiet river but rather lovely and full of wildlife.  Watch out for the Kingfishers in their plumage of bright blue. The history tour along the route is well worth it, as it travels through Maidstone. Drinks, tea, cake and snacks can be purchased from the on-board bar.

Kent Life introduces visitors to is full of gorgeous friendly animals, a wonderful range of historic buildings to explore and a fabulous tearoom.  There is indoor play in the winter and the big top shows during the holidays.  Fabulous for a young family.

Enjoying the wine and the terrace at Balfour Winery

Balfour Winery is well worth a visit.  Enjoy a walk amongst the vines and settle on the terrace to enjoy a local goody platter and taste a little of the local wine.

Choose a visit to beautiful Biddenden Vineyard, with its fabulous local produce shop, wines on tastings, spectacular award winning ciders and fruit juices. Many of the Kentish fruit juices are pressed and created right here. Often the scent is fabulous and cannot be replicated on a computer. You need to visit.

Go Ape zip wires

Don't miss this!!! Especially if you are looking for a little fun or a challenge.  Go-Ape Leeds Castle has the longest zip wires in England.  The climbs are a challenge and some of the balancing is too. But the zip wire are a wild ride!!

With a longer stay you can build an itinerary that allows you to reach more the attractions in the borough. The geographical area is large so we suggest that you concentrate on one area at the time.
