Part 2 of the interesting photographs of Maidstone features a number of events which the town hosted. Some can be accurately dated others are more approximate.
This was obviously a big occasion on what is now Jubilee Square.
It's now unimaginable to have performing lions, which were caged for transport.
Imagine how tricky and event of this type would be today. No barriers between the animals and the crowd. Let alone the elephants possibly getting out of control.
This must have been and exciting event. Loads of people turned up.
An event which would have been an engineering achievement and fantastic for getting trade across the river.
This building went all out for the decoration for the Coronation of Edward Vll
And there was a parade as well for the Coronation of Edward Vll
