About

This Easter holiday, brace yourselves for an uproarious adventure with measly medieval knights and outrageous outlaws, as you join the Knights of Leeds Castle for a mission of utmost urgency – not the egg hunt but laying siege to Leeds Castle by order of Queen Isabella of France (who was put out at not being allowed in for a rest). Inspired by the bestselling Horrible Histories books written by Terry Deary and illustrated by Martin Brown, published by Scholastic.

Do you dare to channel your inner knight? Join the ranks as you prepare for this legendary quest through the grounds.

Create your very own knightly kit and skills – a crest, a shield, swaggering swordplay and buckets of bravery. Be prepared for a whole lot of helmet hair to drive you potty!

Take inspiration from the Leeds Castle grounds; colours, plants and even choose a bird of prey to make your crest really horrible:

  • Will it be a raven who eats the eyes of carcasses so they can get to the juicy brain?
  • An owl who swallows their prey whole to then barf up the bones!
  • Or a peregrine falcon who can only carry half its weight, so makes its kill lighter by removing the wings, legs and head before carrying it to its nest!

Enjoy a hilarious romp through history, gather your courage, don your armour and join us for a riotous adventure where history comes alive with Horrible Histories fun at Leeds Castle. Those who complete the quest with valour will be rewarded with a Leeds Castle gold coin, and you’ll earn yourself an official Leeds Castle knighthood! Will you rise to the challenge and claim your place among the legends? The quest awaits!
