The family-owned winery uses traditional Champagne grape varieties and methods in the production of its sparkling wines and also crafts small batches of traditional method Sparkling Ciders, and still wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Hush Heath is a 400 acre family owned estate in the heart of the "Garden of England", Kent , with vast ancient woodland, vineyards, apple orchards and wild flower meadows. With family values at its core, the estate combines conservation with an unrivalled spirit of hospitality and generosity.
We are famous for producing Balfour Brut Rosé, one of the most iconic and exclusive English sparkling wines, using traditional Champagne methods and grape varieties. Our vineyards were established in 2002 and are predominantly planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, although more recently, plantings of Bacchus and Pinot Blanc have been added. All our grapes are handpicked and blended in our state-of-the-art Winery.
In 2018, we underwent a large expansion, with a new contemporary style Cellar Door building, housing our Visitor Centre, which offers Vineyard/Winery tours and tastings, with space for corporate and private events. Hush Heath wines are nationally and internationally award-winning and include a sparkling range under the ‘Balfour’ brand and still wines under the ‘Hush Heath Estate’ brand. The Estate has a distinct ‘house style’, producing wines of elegance and purity, showcasing a soft mousse with a fruit-forward approach and a refreshing, lively acidity. Fruit from the Estate’s apple orchards is used to make the ‘Jake’s Kentish Cider’ range and our two truly unique sparkling apple wines, which reflects a constant drive for innovation. An exciting tourist attraction, Hush Heath has a friendly and passionate team who enjoy welcoming guests and sharing with them their extensive knowledge of viticulture, wine making and tutored tastings. Winter Winery Tours run at 2.30pm from November-March, Thursday-Sunday. This experience includes a tour around our sophisticated Winery, where the fascinating art of winemaking is explained.
