Maidstone honoured King George III's visit in 1799 by dedicating a street to his name, after this was used as a route during a visit to review the Kent Volunteers. Major building societies and a supermarket are located here as well as The Mall, Chequers Centre. You will also find Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Nero's, Pizza Hut and some very good independent cafe's.
