579 reviewsBalfour Winery has been producing England's most iconic and exclusive pink fizz, Balfour Brut Rosé, since its award winning 2004 vintage.
The family-owned winery uses traditional Champagne grape varieties and methods in the production of its sparkling wines and also leads the way in still wine production. Our vineyards were established in 2002 and are predominantly planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Bacchus although more recently, plantings of more unusual varieties like Pinot Blanc have been added. All our grapes are handpicked by our vineyard team and blended in our state-of-the-art Winery to produce wines with a distinct ‘house style’ of elegance and purity, showcasing a soft mousse with a fruit-forward approach and a refreshing, lively acidity.
In addition to our wines, Jake’s Drinks is a collection of craft beers and ciders from the winemakers at Balfour Winery. As with our wines, the beers and ciders are made with the same skill and pioneering spirit. They combine the best local ingredients, a winemaker’s touch and a vision for producing drinks of elegance and balance.
Hush Heath Estate is a 400-acre family-owned estate in the heart of the "Garden of England" and home to Balfour Winery in Kent. With vast ancient woodland, vineyards, apple orchards and wild flower meadows, the private estate is open for guests to explore all-year round. With family values at its core, the estate combines conservation with an unrivalled spirit of hospitality and generosity.
Our impressive contemporary style Cellar Door building houses our Visitor Centre, which offers year-round tours of the estate and tastings of a range of our wines, with excellent space and facilities for corporate and private events. An exciting tourist attraction, Balfour Winery has a friendly and passionate team who enjoy welcoming guests and sharing with them their extensive knowledge of viticulture, wine making and tutored tastings. Self-guided tours are free and available without booking. We also have delicious sharing platters of local charcuterie, cheese and vegetarian options as the perfect accompaniment to our wines. We are open every day from 10am until 5pm, including bank holidays, all year round. If you are looking for an all-day experience to include an extended vineyard and estate tour, a tutored tasting and a delicious three-course meal paired with our wines, then our Wine and Dine Experience comes highly recommended. Available on Thursdays through to Sundays and available to book from our website.
A number of exciting events are held at Balfour Winery throughout the year, in addition to our unique Balfour Dining Club Music Sessions held on selected Saturday evenings throughout the year. From Mother’s Day afternoon tea, blending workshops and Murder Mystery evenings our stunning venue offers a perfect place to meet with friends.
With a Cellar Door shop, guided tours and complimentary self-led tour options available, Balfour Winery has become a destination for both wine lovers and those simply looking to explore the beautiful Kentish countryside.
Guided tours and tutored tastings must be prebooked, tickets from £25 per person.
Balfour Winery's new restaurant, The Winemakers’ Kitchen, is the perfect representation of ‘what grows together, goes together’.
